The prevalence of capitalism
over communism did not entail or represent the end of a bipolar dynamic in
international relations. The Cold War continues to be represented by different
hostilities, with the conflict between North and South Korea indicating that
there is one main area of the world that could destabilize international
security. Though the scale of the conflict between these two can be
characterized at a minor level when compared to the rivalry between the USA and
the USSR, it is possible to identify key elements that characterize the Korean
conflict as one based upon the image of the Cold War.
